Walk & Play

tips puppytoysandwalk

Collars should be introduced to your puppy immediately, but remember that you mustn’t take it out for a walk until fully vaccinated. Good quality, safe toys will make your pet's life more fun. Play with your puppy to create mutual bonds with it faster. Playtime is a good way for exercising and training. The puppy should not be allowed to play with children’s toys or your shoes.

Walks and playing with puppies help in building close mutual bonds and should be considered as the most effective training technique!

Exercise is vital. Start by taking it out for a walk once fully vaccinated. Before you go out for the first time, make sure it wears a safe collar. You may want to try a retractable lead. If the puppy pulls really hard the leash, try putting on a harness.

Never leave your home without carrying small bags for its feces. As an act of social sensitivity, we must keep the environment clean for everyone.

Fresh air and exercise is not the only good thing when you take your puppy out for a walk.

All excursions and explorations contribute to its early socialization.

Extra attention should be given to the control of the rhythm and the frequency of body exercise for young dogs. Large breed dogs are very sensitive to excessive training and exercise during the first year of their life.

There will be times when you want to take your puppy with you in the car for a ride. Most dogs don’t have any problems with trips and rides and they find it quite fun, once they are properly trained. If you find out that your puppy suffers from nausea due to traffic during its first rides, try to make smaller routes with an empty stomach until the problem is resolved. If the problem insists, ask advice from your vet.

Safety is very important for you and your puppy when you travel. If you want your puppy to travel on the passenger seat, make sure to fasten the special dog seatbelt, adjusted to its size.

Remember never to leave your dog inside the car on its own when it’s very hot. Always have fresh drinking water with you when you travel long distances.
